Hue Magazine

The Creative Arts Network have launched their first print publication ‘Hue’ today. The magazine discusses aspects of creative studio culture and practice, stretching across a wide and varied range of creative disciplines.

Outset, the pilot edition of Hue, explores the origin of ideas behind self-initiated works.

Self ‘assigned’ briefs and studio projects have often played an important part and are a regular feature in the creatives portfolio. Whether simply a brief respite from restrictive client briefs or an opportunity to strengthen the portfolio, many creatives deliberately put aside time for such projects. Outset aims to explore what drives ideas when clients aren’t paying.

“We invited a number of studios, freelancers and creative directors from around the world to comment on the process behind their self-initiated works and studio projects. Encouraging them to respond however they felt appropriate, resulting in a unique style of publication exploring a regular feature for creatives across a range of disciplines.” – Editor Chris Smyth
